John Wayne... My new hero!

After spending the majority of my weekend doing an impression of John Wayne's swagger, I now fully appreciate his classic style.

I even woke up early today and went to the gym to meet the trainer.

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, 45 minutes doing weight training and finished off with 15 minutes on the bike! Skinny bride here I come!

Gosh I hope this works... I would really hate to work this hard and not see results. I am sure I will see some progress.

AND hopefully no more impressions of John Wayne!

Bubbles, Bird Seed, Petals, Sparklers... Ringing Bells?

I have been trying to narrow down the choices...

Bubbles...
Bird Seed...
Petals...
Sparklers...
Silver Bells...

Well... bubbles don't work very well at night.
Bird Seed... we'll be digging it out of our... well my hair for days.
Petals... expensive and you never have enough for everyone
Sparklers... my favorite, but the Brooks doesn't allow it
Silver bells... well... now that is different!

What do you think about handing out silver bells as favors and have the guests ring them as we leave?

I've fallen and can't get up!

OK... I need help sitting down, getting up, stairs (not an option)...

I have literally fallen and can't get up!

Damn the trainer... I need the handles on toilet... I can't get up! Someone call 911!

And Training Begins!

Yes, that right. I have begun working out with a trainer at the French Rivera! Great price... $20 a week no matter how many times I work out.

I met with him yesterday and we discussed by timeline and goals. He confident that I will be at my goal weight! I spent a hour on the treadmill on Thrusday and today, I did 30 minutes on the treadmill with 45 minutes on weight training.

I am very hopeful that I will be a skinny Bride. Help a sister out... Please smack any "Fat" foods out of my chubby hands if you see me eating.

We had a weigh in so I will be able to give updates to my progress. Hopefully, we can all inspire each other on this road to skinny land and healthy eating.

Barbie falls for the flowers!

With the colors almost almost chosen (still not ready to commit), Barbie has taken the opportunity to look over various styles of bouquets and arrangements.

Unfortunately, Barbie left her undies at home this morning! Clearly, the photographer works for some tabloid or trashy magazine and took the shot anyway! Had to include it here.

The flowers in the background are great.

If you know how to put the black bar of shame across the eyes of someone with a "Glamor Don't"... please let me know so I can give Barbie some pride!

Bride & Groom Cake Topper?

Before I started reading Wedding magazines, I thought everyone had a Bride & Groom on their wedding cake. I guess if I had really thought about it I would have remembered not seeing one in years... but hindsight is 20/20.

Joseph and I agreed to have a Bride & Groom on the top of the cake. At the time, I wasn't aware that it was so out of fashion. Which isn't surprising given all the crap they are selling as wedding cake toppers!

Now I have a problem. I have agreed to have a Bride & Groom cake topper, but they are all TACKY with a capitol T! What's a Bride to do?

Hit EBay! No luck there either. Evidently the high end, antique Bride & Groom cake toppers are very collectible and are extremely hard to find. To bad I can't get my Grandmother to give hers up for a few weeks. She agreed but... I don't think she was keen on the idea.

I would love to have an antique bisque Bride and Groom from the 20's! Please keep your eyes pealed for one.

Brandon mentioned the Waterford Chrystal cake topper... Which is nice... but still not sold!

OHHHHHH... Why all the Tacky cake toppers! Am I the only Bride who wants... demands... a classy Bride and Groom?

Snozberry Breakup Rumor...

Rumor has it that The Snozberry broke up over the weekend! It's unconfirmed, but who wants to take a chance.

I do; however, have it on good intel that "Rhythem Gray" will be starting back up. They were a great cover band about 8 years ago. The drummer... Kevin Nix... works at Ardent and he's thrilled with the opportunity to play the wedding. Kevin and Joseph have become friends over the years... which could be dangerous! Kevin is quite the prankster!

I will keep you posted. Rhythem Gray should begin practicing in the next few weeks. I look forward to hearing how things turn out and would love to have them play the reception.

The Reception Site Confrimed - The Brooks Museum

Joseph put his foot down on the Hunt-Phelan Home! It was a BIG NOOOOOOO! Like I wanted to have it there any way after all the drama they gave me. With Heidi's help, I made a complete list of all the possible venues in the immediate area which totaled to about 20 plus sites. I listed them all off to Joseph with the usual responses... No too dirty, no such and such had it there, grunt, silence...

When I mentioned the Brooks, he actually sat up and made eye contact and said I didn't know the Brooks' did that... the Brooks would be great... I jumped on it and setup an appointment for us to meet with the Brooks' coordinator.

The next day we met for lunch and headed over to the Brooks. He absolutely loved it... well as much as a Groom loves anything other than his Bride. (Sorry for the sappy comment!) He said the magic words... Book it! And I did. They take AmEx!

Take a look... there website is

MidSouth Bridal Show

On Sunday, Tommie, Emily and I went to the MidSouth Bridal Show. It was fun to get the Bride Button! Very fun! Of course, we had gone to Ya-Yas prior to attending the show. Several Bloody Marys and etc were had by all! (They were fantastic! I definitely recommend the Bloody Marys!)

We met several different wedding vendors. I did get to speak to the ladies at the Cadre Building which might be in the running again. They said they might be able to swing me a deal... Wish Joseph liked the building better. He still swears it's dirty... but I love it so... we will just have to see.

We also talked to a lovely travel agent who I might have to contact concerning the Honeymoon! In all my past travels, we picked the trips based on price not a specific place or a specific time. So my experience will probably not help in booking a Honeymoon.

We also spoke with a company that specializes in preserving your bouquet which is pretty neat. At the time, I thought it was the best idea... now not so much!

We also found "The Ace of Cakes" of the south. My Mom & Me! They are in West Memphis. I thought I had chosen my "cake lady" but I just might change my mind. Their cakes were amazing. Make sure to check out their site as well and give me some feedback on what you think!

After the Show, Tommie and I went to another show... "27 Dresses" and what a great movie... very bridey and the perfect ending for the perfect day!

Photographer Hired!

On Saturday, we hired a Photographer for the wedding. T Fleming Photography... Barbie was on hand for the signing of the contract and the DEPOSIT! Ouch... I think everyone will be pleased. He takes great pictures and I loved the fun and casual pictures he takes. I am positive he will make everyone look their best!

Take a moment to check out his website: http://www.tflemingphotography.com/

I love the fact they get fun pictures and the traditional! So everyone get ready it's picture time!

Fat Bride - Skinny Bride

As some of you know, I would like to lose some weight before the wedding. Since I haven't been very motivated lately... even with knowing I would have to wear a big white dress... I have tried some new motivational tactics.

I currently have placed pictures around my house both on & in the frig, on the bathroom mirror and in my purse photos of my face on both a fat bride and a skinny bride. It was impossible to find a "fat" bride in all of my Bridal magazines. So she really isn't "fat"... but the skinny bride... oh my... she's very skinny.

I thought it would be fun to post my motivational tools on the blog and see if anyone could give me pointers on other effective motivational items that will help me get the needed push to lose weight.

In my bathroom, when you are getting out of the shower, you can't help but look in the mirror which provides the most god awful view of your naked body you could ever imagine.

Thus... the perfect place to tape up a motivational tool. Here she is in all her glory. Of course, I have already figured out that if I take a really really hot shower, the mirror fogs and I don't have to see myself!

hahaha... so sad... Bad bride... I should take cold showers so I can be motivated!

Here are hte pics of the Front of the frig and the Inside of the frig! Great aren't they?
